OPERATING SYSTEM

• We are a Macintosh based publication.

SUPPLIED MEDIA

• We take floppy disks, CD- ROM ’s and 100 MB Zip Disks. If you want to email us your ad send it to this email address: production@njparentweb.com

FORMATS

• We accept Quark 5.0, Photoshop, Illustrator, Pagemaker 7, Freehand and Acrobat (PDF). We do not accept MICROSOFT PUBLISHER files.
• Send all fonts ( printer & screen) and all scans ( TIFF or eps) used in your ad.
• If you use JPEGs, please make sure they're att least 300 dpi *
• If you send a PDF file please make sure the font are imbedded
• Please send CMYK
• If you are working on a PC, please save your file in a MacIntosh format. or PDF
• We prefer compressed files ( self- extracting archives) .
• We will convert your RGB file to CMYK or grayscale. Reproductive quality as a result of this conversion cannot be guaranteed.

RESOLUTION

• When designing your ad, keep in mind it will be printed on newsprint, which has a 20% gain in the midtone range.
• We require a resolution of 200 dpi for b& w halftones, 300 dpi for color and 800 dpi for bitmap ( line art) images.
• We print at: 85 line screen.
• We output at 1200 dpi ( b& w and color)

PROOFING

• All ads submitted on disc must be accompanied by a clean paper proof. * • If you are transmitting the ad, a copy must be faxed to: 732-435-0677. * If we are unable to output files as submitted, the ( faxed) proof will be used as backup. Reproductive quality of this backup cannot be guaranteed. IF NO PROOF IS SUBMITTED, WE ACCEPT NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR OUTPUT.

COLOR ADS

• Please be sure to include color proof and paper proofs of separations. Color proofs should be created using a CMYK color printer. RGB proofs will not be accurate, colors in CMYK tend to be slightly darker.
• All color files, except pre- approved spot color, should be set up as CMYK.

PDF FILES

Please use these settings when distilling your file.

IKeep in Mind •If you are using TrueType in your original document, it will default in your pdf.
